Khloe Kardashian has reportedly been put in charge of Lamar’s medical care as the former NBA star remains hospitalised in a coma, and sources say the 31-year-old is struggling to cope with the pressure of making ‘life or death’ decisions for her ex.

“She never dreamed that she’d have these responsibilities, and it’s just so overwhelming and unexpected,” a source told People.

“She realises that these are literally decisions of life and death, and she wasn’t prepared to take on this responsibility.”

Despite signing their divorce papers in July this year, the two are still legally married as the judgement has yet to be officially entered in the courts.

Khloe hasn’t left Lamar’s side since he was hospitalised on Tuesday, after being found unconscious at the Love Ranch, a brothel in Nevada. The 35-year-old had been there for several days and had been taking an herbal substitute for Viagra, and Love Ranch employees also alleged he had taken cocaine in the 911 call reporting the incident.

As Lamar continues to battle for his life in the hospital, his friends and family have gathered around his bedside to offer their support. His former teammate Kobe Bryant rushed to the hospital yesterday after a basketball game, and many more NBA stars have led the call for prayers on social media.

Khloe’s family have also dropped everything to fly to Lamar’s bedside, including Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian West, Caitlyn Jenner and Kourtney Kardashian. Today, Kourtney took to Instagram to post a picture of Lamar in happier times, cuddling her eldest son Mason.

“Believing in the power of prayer for this beautiful soul,” she captioned the throwback photo.

Kim has reportedly postponed a planned baby shower, and younger sister Kendall Jenner cut short her duties at Shanghai Fashion Week to jet back to the US to join the rest of her family. Yesterday, Kendall posted a cryptic tweet that seemed to be a reference to Lamar’s health crisis.

Meanwhile, Lamar’s daughter Destiny posted several heartfelt messages about her dad on Twitter.

“Please don’t leave us,” she wrote along with a picture of the two of them.

“Soon I’ll be by your side and I’ll never let go. I love you daddy.”
