Lamar Odom is still in a coma at a Las Vegas hospital after he was found unconscious at a brothel in Pahrump, Nevada on Tuesday afternoon (US time).
TMZ reports that Lamar fell into the coma on Tuesday night after his critical condition deteriorated, suffering problems with his kidneys, lungs and heart. The 35-year-old is also said to have had several strokes since being hospitalised.
“Lamar is still fighting,” a source told the publication.
“It’s a waiting game right now. The first 48 hours will tell a lot.”
The basketball player checked into The Love Ranch on Saturday and had reportedly taken an herbal substitute for Viagra. According to People, Lamar suffered “a couple of strokes” and was found with cocaine and opiates in his system.
Lamar’s ex-wife Khloe Kardashian reportedly “dropped everything” and flew to the hospital on Tuesday to be by his side, where she was joined by older sister Kim Kardashian West and mother Kris Jenner.
People also reports that despite both Khloe and Lamar signing their divorce papers in July, the former couple are still legally married as the judgement hasn’t yet been entered into court.
“It’s so sad and the situation is unimaginable. Before Khloe got to the hospital she was inconsolable and now she just wants to be by his side,” People’s source says.
“The Kardashians are his family.”
Lamar has had a troubled history of drug and alcohol issues and previously entered a rehab facility for treatment in 2013. He and Khloe were married in September 2009 before Khloe filed for divorce four years later, after rumours of Lamar’s infidelity and substance abuse problems plagued the once-happy couple. In July this year, both Khloe and Lamar finally signed the papers.
