The launch of the new season of Celebrity Treasure Island doubled as an eighth wedding anniversary celebration for contestant Millen Baird and his wife Siobhan Marshall, who came fourth on the show back in 2022.
“We actually forgot our anniversary yesterday,” Outrageous Fortune actress Siobhan, 41, told Woman’s Day, laughing. “But this is great because I missed my season’s launch party. Now I can celebrate without being anxious about what happens on screen!”
Nodding nervously, 800 Words actor Millen, 51, added, “I’m s**tting bricks because there’s little old Millsy on an island with these big personalities. It’s carnage! A lot happens. I became best friends with Christian Cullen – although I’m not sure he knows that – and there was a possum that taunted me while on a midnight wee.”
Although rumours ran rife that Tāmati Coffey is the villain of this series, Duncan Garner insisted MacLeod’s Daughters actress Michelle Langstone, who didn’t attend the Auckland event, is the true baddie.
“She gets offside with a few people,” revealed the Listener columnist, 50. “In my profession, I’ve copped a lot of abuse over the years, but we really clashed. She’s a vegan and I caught a fish, then she told me off for overcooking the rice. We argued like husband and wife!”
Meanwhile, after competing on two seasons of CTI, new co-host Lance Savali, 32, told us, “When I got the call to audition alongside the legend herself, Bree Tomasel, it was a huge deal to me. I practised every day and the audition couldn’t have gone any better. I was so stoked. It was meant to be! This show holds a special place in my heart.”
