During last night’s live Grand Final, Beau Monga beat out runner up Nyssa Collins and second runner up Brendan Thomas and The Vibes to win Season Two of The X Factor New Zealand!

The 21-year-old beatboxer and singer got the crowd going with a performance of his winner’s single ‘King & Queen’, which will be officially released under the Sony Music label.

As well as being crowned The X Factor NZ winner for 2015, Beau has also scored a recording contract with Sony Music International and the first ever Mazda CX-3 – not bad for the former busker!

Beau’s unique performance style – which included rapping, singing, dancing, beatboxing and a loop pedal – gained him plenty of fans during the second season of the reality show.

“We are so incredibly pleased with what Beau has achieved this season. He has continued to learn, develop and shine on The X Factor stage and New Zealand has chosen him as their winner,” X Factor NZ Co-Executive Producer Andrew Szusterman said.

“Tonight is the result of many weeks of hard work and determination, both from the contestants and the production team, I couldn’t be more proud.”

We got a taste of Beau’s rapping skills during our photoshoot with the final three last week – check out his beatboxing ode to Woman’s Day below:
