Andy and Nate have won this season of The Block NZ, after initially failing to meet their reserve at Sunday night’s live auction.
The brothers-in-law from Hamilton had a turnaround in fortunes when the house was again auctioned after Stace and Yanita were in the lead.
Friends Stace and Yanita had sold their house for $1,271,000 and with a profit of $30,000 it looked like they would take home the $100,000 prize money.
However, a second round of bidding for Andy and Nate’s house received a final bid of $1,250,000, giving them a $31,000 profit and thus the overall prize for the biggest profit.
Auckland twins Julia and Ali received a final bid of $1,242,000 for their house, giving them a profit of $13,000.
Ling and Zing, who were the first to go to auction, received the overall highest bid of $1,300,000 but only made $1000 over their reserve.
