The Duke and Duchess of Cambrige have left St Mary’s Hospital in London, giving the world its first glimpse at the new royal baby!
Duchess Kate gave birth to a daughter at 8.34AM yesterday (UK time). The announcement of her name is still to come, but the baby weighed in at 8lbs 3 oz and both mother and daughter are “doing well”, according to the official Kensington Palace Twitter.
Earlier today, Prince William was seen taking Prince George into the Lindo Wing at the hospital to meet his new baby sister. The Duke and Duchess will now travel to their home at Kensington Palace.
“Their Royal Highnesses would like to thank all staff at the hospital for the care and treatment they have all received,” Kensington Palace said.
“They would also like to thank everyone for their warm wishes.”
Congratulations have already been flooding in from around the world, with both John Key and Tony Abbott tweeting their messages.
