It was the wedding that captivated the entire world.

Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, was about to marry the love of his life, Kate Middleton, and it felt like we were right there in the middle of Westminster Abbey with them – wearing an elaborate hat, of course.

From the moment the brunette beauty stepped out of the car, revealing her stunning, one-of-a-kind Alexander McQueen gown, we knew we were in for something special.

From Wills’ beaming face upon seeing his soon-to-be wife, to the lovebird’s first public kiss as a married couple, each moment was captured beautifully, to be remembered for years to come.

As William and Catherine’s five year wedding anniversary approaches this Friday, April 29, (it seriously feels like yesterday!), we’re reliving all the moments that made us gasp, clap, scream and weep with happiness.

Catherine’s incredible gown, which at the time was estimated to have cost around £40,000 or $NZD84,000, was designed by Alexander McQueen and was hand-crafted using the Carrickmacross lace-making technique.

The soon-to-be Duchess was helped by her beautiful younger sister Pippa, who donned a figure-hugging, Alexander McQueen dress and became a sensation in her own right.

William was speechless to see his beautiful bride! Here, Kate flashes him an excited smile as her father gives her away.

Wills and Kate lit up Westminster Abbey, a 929-year-old church located in London.

After saying “I do”, the newlyweds stepped out of the chapel for the first time as Husband and Wife and were welcomed to a chorus of bells and cheers.

And of course a princess needs a carriage!

The British Royal Family emerge on the iconic balcony of Buckingham Palace, to greet the thousands of citizens who stood waiting to congratulate the new Duke and Duchess.

And that’s a wrap! Fresh from their wedding bliss, the royal couple performed a victory lap – not in a horse and carriage this time, but rather a vintage blue Aston Martin with a super sweet number plate that read, “JU5T WED”.
