It’s no secret that Prince George is a huge fan of Fireman Sam — both his parents have touched on his obsession in the past.

And now, the little prince is in for a real treat… he’s inspired an upcoming episode!

The popular children’s series is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, and to mark the occasion its creators are making a special ‘royal’ episode in tribute to their famous fan.

“We’re going to celebrate Fireman Sam’s 30th anniversary by introducing a very special episode,” producer Ian McCue said. “We heard that we have a very famous fan in Prince George, so we thought it would be really fun to bring a royal family to Pontypandy and see how the community reacts to that.”

Titled ‘The Prince of Pontypandy’, the one-off episode will see a young prince visit the make-believe Welsh valleys village on official royal duty before saving the day with his rescue helicopter skills (another passion of the third-in-line to the throne).

The episode air around the world next year — to much fanfare, we’re sure — as part of the show’s eleventh season.

Earlier this month, Prince William shared the cutest tidbit about his first born at a fundraising black tie gala organised by the City Veterans’ Network at the Imperial War Museum in London.

The proud dad attended the swanky event as patron of the Defence National Rehabilitation Centre. The facility, due to open next year, aims to repair the “seriously wounded” who have returned home from battlefront with the aid of physio and cognitive therapy.

During a pre-dinner speech, the Duke recalled that his son was “very envious” that he got to drive an excavator while visiting the redevelopment project a little while back.

“I have been repeatedly impressed by both the speed and ambitious scale of this endeavour,” he told the audience. “I was present at the end of 2014 when the first building was demolished to make way for the new construction. George was very envious as I got to drive a digger.”

He’s a hands-on little royal!

Of course, things are about to become a whole lot busier in the beloved royal household!

William and his wife, Duchess Catherine, are currently expecting their third little prince or princess.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s third child will arrive in April 2018, Kensington Palace confirmed on Twitter.

The beloved couple have not yet confirmed the exact due date, however there’s a chance the newest royal addition could share their birthday with their great-granny the Queen, who will celebrate her 92nd on 21 April.

Or, if the royal bub were to arrive later in the month, their grand entrance could coincide with the Cambridges’ seventh wedding anniversary on 29 April.

We can barely wait!
