Meghan and Harry marriage ‘on edge’ after furious argument over UK return

Prince Harry and the Duchess of Sussex’s marriage is once again hanging by a thread following a tense argument about returning to the UK. With Meghan, 44, not having visited her husband’s home country since Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in 2022, Harry, 41, was holding out hope for a family stay at Balmoral Castle this year, especially since they’ll be spending more time in Europe in the lead-up
to the 2027 Invictus Games.

“Harry’s been desperately trying to map out a plan to bring him and Meghan back into the royal family,” reports a palace insider.

“He’s carving out time for a trip to Scotland, so his father can see Archie and Lilibet. He genuinely believes Balmoral could be the place where things finally start healing.”

Harry can’t count on support from his brother or sister-in-law.

However, the Prince and Princess of Wales are less than enthusiastic about the proposed plans.

Our source continues, “William and Kate are deeply uneasy about the whole thing. William especially feels boundaries must stay in place. They’ve made it clear that they don’t want a situation where Harry and Meghan start drifting slowly back into the fold.”

Tensions boil over behind the scenes

After Wills, 43, and Kate, 44, let their views be known, things boiled over between Harry and Meghan, just before she jetted off to Geneva to attend the unveiling of an installation highlighting the dangers of online abuse, supported by their charity Archewell Philanthropies.

And tensions have remained high ever since, spills our insider, adding, “Meghan heard that William and Kate had told Harry they’re not welcome, and that they refuse to have their family sanctuary disrupted by what they called ‘Hollywood drama’. Meghan was understandably upset and it turned into a real showdown.”

Despite going all out sharing pictures and videos celebrating their eighth wedding anniversary on social media, the source adds that Meghan has now told Harry he can head to the UK without her.

“Meghan’s bust-up with Harry was a big one and she’s digging her heels in. She’s told Harry to go without her as there is no way she will be joining him. She doesn’t want to put herself or the kids through the trauma. “Harry’s in a state of panic. He’s scared he’s pushed Meghan too far this time and if he chooses to go to the UK, he’s facing the reality of spending the summer cut off from his wife and his children. Relations are still so difficult with the rest of his family, so it could end up being a tough time for him.”
