Ronan Keating and Julian Dennison have teamed up to Kiwi-fy a traditional Christmas carol, for a classic New Zealand summer.

In ‘Summer Wonderland’, the pop star and up-and-coming Kiwi actor sing about broken jandals, backyard cricket, and pavlova.

The adorable video recorded for Air New Zealand, is a Kiwi take of the classic song Winter Wonderland, with brand new lyrics more suited for the Southern Hemisphere.

“It doesn’t really snow down here at Christmas, so let’s go with ‘your bro is glistening’ because a lot of people get sweaty, it’s really sunny,” Julian tells a reluctant Ronan in the clip.

Despite acting disgruntled in the video, the Irish singer had nothing but praise for his young co-star, New Zealand and the airline.

“I’m a big fan of New Zealand, both the country and the people and also of Air New Zealand. I love their humorous on board safety videos and of course, the great inflight experience.

“Working with Julian was a breeze – he’s an absolute legend, incredibly professional, and to top it off, he can definitely sing.”

The feeling was mutual with 14-year-old Julian, who considered the experience of working with Ronan to be a career highlight.

The Hunt For The Wilderpeople star is also looking forward to spending his summer holidays with his whanau.

“My job in the video is to sell Ronan on the idea of a sunny outdoor Christmas – the kind of day I’m looking forward to sharing with my family, jamming on the guitar or ukulele and chillaxing.

“For me Christmas is about getting people together and in the groove, so what better way to celebrate than to cut a track on why a Kiwiana Christmas is epic.”
