Calvin Harris and Rita Ora’s relationship ended in scandal in June last year, and now the singer is opening up about the painful experience in a new interview with Marie Claire.
As it turns out, mixing their personal and professional lives (the two collaborated on Rita’s hit single ‘I Will Never Let You Down’) may have been the last straw.
“I was at that point in my relationship where I felt he could do no wrong. I thought he had my back and that he’d never steer me wrong,” Rita told the magazine.
“But then ‘I Will Never Let You Down’ came out, and everything started to go a bit weird. I don’t know if it was because business was mixed with personal or what,” she continued.
Months after their breakup, Rita was slated to perform the single at the Teen Choice Awards, but she said Calvin “didn’t approve” the rights for her to sing it at the event. Calvin later lashed out at the singer over Twitter.
“You’ll only know 1 side of the story RE Teen choice awards because I choose not to talk to the papers about every aspect of my personal life,” he tweeted in August 2014.
“But just know I had a damn good reason.”
Calvin has since been linked to popstar Taylor Swift, while Rita was rumoured to be dating Ricky Hilfiger.
