She had plenty of fighting words for her would-be opponents earlier this month, but now that Naz Khanjani’s boxing opponent has been revealed, the bolshie bachelorette is preparing herself for what she describes as “a huge challenge”.
“I actually listen to her radio show every morning, so she seems like a sister to me,” Naz says of her opponent Lily Taurau, who hosts the morning show on Mai FM.
“Don’t listen to what the media says. This is gonna be a huge challenge for me. Lily is three inches taller and she could be as much as five kilos heavier come fight night,” Naz continues.
“But I am confident I will be prepared for this challenge.”
The feisty brunette is training hard for her upcoming match at Christchurch’s Round 12 boxing gym, and she promises she will “put on one hell of a show” come July 21.
Meanwhile, Lily says she’s counting on the support of New Zealand viewers when she steps into the ring against Naz for the Burger King Road to the Title event.
“When Naz announced she needed an opponent I knew I had to put myself forward. Jumping in the ring would be a tick off my bucket list and I know there’s a lot of NZ women backing me who would have loved the opportunity for themselves,” she said in a statement published on Mai FM’s website.
