Naz Khanjani’s boxing opponent revealed

The feisty bachelorette’s opponent is confirmed to be Mai FM radio DJ Lily Taurau

Naz is getting ready to face off against an as-yet-unannounced opponent on July 21.

After a nationwide search to find an opponent game enough to face off against The Bachelor NZ’s Nazanin Khanjani in the ring, promoters Duco Events have settled on their final choice.

Mai FM host Lily Taurau, who fronts the station’s Morning Crew programme, is confirmed to be taking on the challenge of boxing against Naz in the Burger King Road to the Title fight next month.

In her call out video, Lily taunted: “Hey Naz, I hear you’re calling people out for a fight. That’s cute – and I hear Paul Henry’s daughter’s an option. Don’t do that,” she said.

“If you really want a challenge, come and see me. Let me know if you want a piece.”

Boxing star Joseph Parker officially announced the news in a video on the Duco Events Facebook page earlier this morning.

Naz will be appearing as undercard to Joseph and Solomon Haumono’s heavyweight fight in Christchurch on July 21.

While Lily has been chosen as the bolshie bachelorette’s boxing rival, there were plenty of other contenders throwing their names in the ring as well.

Bella Henry famously stepped up to the challenge, while former bachelorettes Kristie Leonard and Chrystal Chenery also hinted at their willingness to take part in the fight.

As for Naz herself, the brunette beauty had plenty of fighting words for her would-be opponents.

“A lot of people think I’ve got a big mouth. I’m giving them the chance to shut me up,” she told Woman’s Day when the news was first announced.

“Anyone who sledges me is on my hit list. But a word of warning ladies – I hit back!”
