Lamar Odom won’t face charges over the October 2015 incident which saw him hospitalised in a coma after being discovered unconscious in a Nevada brothel, according to several reports.

At the time, the athlete and reality star was rumoured to have been found with a cocktail of drugs in his system, but a spokesperson for the Nye County District Attorney has stated that Lamar won’t be facing any legal troubles over the shocking event.

A representative for the Nye County District Attorney has said that while “evidence showed Mr. Odom had metabolised cocaine in his system while he was present in Nye County in October of 2015, he was not found in the possession of cocaine and it is unlikely it could established beyond a reasonable doubt he actually ingested, or was impaired by, the drug during the time he was within the jurisdiction of Nye County”.

The good news comes after Lamar was finally released from the hospital in a secret process spearheaded by estranged wife Khloe Kardashian. According to Us Weekly, Lamar left the Los Angeles hospital he had been staying at on January 6 to be transferred to a private facility near Khloe’s home, where he will undergo continued rehabilitation.

Khloe is said to have arranged the entire process privately in order to avoid media attention, even keeping Lamar’s family out of the loop before they announced the news officially on Friday.

Since his shocking hospitalisation last year, the former athlete has continued to make small steps towards recovery. Over Christmas, Lamar’s son shared his first photo with his father since the incident, showing a half-visible Lamar looking into the camera.

Just a few days ago, Lamar was also photographed in public for the first time since entering the hospital.

In a statement released through her publicist, Lamar’s aunt JaNean Mercer said the move was “the next stage of his miraculous recovery at a new facility”.

However, Khloe has previously hinted that the star still has a long way to go, although doctors were optimistic.

“He is learning how to walk again and learning…cognitive therapy and speech therapy,” she revealed in a November interview with Today.

“They think, like, within a year and a half to two years that, mentally, he might be fully recovered. But they don’t know.”
