The ongoing feud between Johnny and Amber has reignited, as Amber Heard’s team claim Johnny is using her settlement money to claim tax deductions.

Earlier this month Amber stated that she would be donating the US $7 million (NZ$9.6m) divorce settlement she was receiving from her ex-husband Johnny, to charity.

The amount was to be equally split between the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles and the American Civil Liberties Union.

Yesterday Johnny’s representatives confirmed that Johnny had paid the first of multiple installments” to each of the charities.

Amber has reportedly slammed Johnny for his actions, as she claims he should have paid the amounts in a lump sum.

“We insist that the full amount be paid immediately and not drawn out over many years,” says Amber’s representatives.

As Johnny has also gone ahead and donated the amounts directly to the charities, instead of paying the settlement to Amber, he is now eligible to for a charitable tax deduction.

This tax deduction means that the $7 million will be significantly decreased, therefore meaning Johnny is not paying the full amount he is required to.

Johnny had previously said that he “deeply respects” Amber for giving the money away.

“Following Amber Heard’s announcement that her divorce settlement was to be divided equally and gifted to Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles and the American Civil Liberties Union, two exceptionally deserving and important charities, Johnny Depp has sent the first of multiple installments of those monies to each charity in the name of Amber Heard, which when completed will honor the full amount of Ms Heard’s pledge. Ms Heard’s generosity in giving to these wonderful causes is deeply respected.”

Amber’s representatives made the following statement:

“If Johnny wishes to change the settlement agreement, we must insist that he honor the full amount by donating $14M to charity, which after accounting for his tax deduction, is equal to his $7M payment obligation to Amber. Anything less would be a transparent attempt by Johnny’s counsel, Laura Wasser and Patti Glaser, to reduce their client’s true payment by half under the guise of newfound concern for charities that he has never previously supported.”

Johnny’s team have hit back at this accusation, and stated that he was honored by the Children’s Hospital of L.A. in 2006 for his work with children worldwide.
