Congratulations to Beau Monga who was crowned winner of The X Factor NZ in last night’s grand final decider. The talented 21-year-old beatboxer and singer beat runner up Nyssa Collins and second runner up Brendan Thomas and The Vibes for the top spot on the reality show. He wins a recording contract with Sony Music International and a Mazda CX-3.
Beau made a lasting impression during X Factor auditions when he performed ‘Hit The Road Jack’ by Ray Charles. His performance went viral with over 4 million views before the launch of The X Factor NZ back in February.
The son of Ardijah band members Betty Ann and Ryan Monga, Beau has proved himself as an all-round entertainer, performing with a loop pedal, rapping, singing and dancing throughout the series.
Beau’s debut single ‘King and Queen’ is an original, which is now available to purchase on iTunes NZ. He is set to release a self-titled album that includes a selection of his favourite covers on Friday June 5, 2015.
“We are so incredibly pleased with what Beau has achieved this season,” says The X Factor NZ Co-Executive Producer Andrew Szusterman. “He has continued to learn, develop and shine on The X Factor stage and New Zealand has chosen him as their winner … I couldn’t be more proud.”
