The biggest names in music have come together for the One Love benefit concert today, raising money to support victims of the Manchester attacks 13 days ago.
Headlining the acts was Ariana Grande who has returned to the stage after 22 people were tragically killed in a suicide attack at the Manchester Arena, where she was performing.
During the concert Ariana brought friend and fellow singer Miley Cyrus on stage for a emotional rendition of the Crowded House classic “Don’t Dream It’s Over”
Written by New Zealander Neil Finn, the song includes the empowering and relevant lyrics “we know they won’t win”.
The benefit event was held after terrorism again struck London yesterday, where seven people were killed.
Yesterday Ariana’s manager, Scooter Braun released the following statement confirming that the the concert would go on as planned.
He called the event a “statement that hatred and fear will never win”.
“Today’s One Love Manchester benefit concert will not only continue, but will do so with greater purpose,” Braun said.
“We must not be afraid and in tribute to all those affected here and around the world, we will bring our voices together and sing loudly.”
