The backlash from Kim’s naked photographs continues to spread, with former frenemy Amber Rose and pop star Pink now weighing in.
On Twitter yesterday, Pink wrote a lengthy post that seemed to be a direct attack on the reality star and mum of two, slamming women who used their “t-ts and a–ses” to court attention.
“Shout out to all of the women, across the world, using their brains, their strength, their work ethic, their talent, their ‘magic’ that they were born with, that only they possess,” she wrote.
“It may not ever bring you as much ‘attention’ or bank notes as using your body, your sex, your tits and asses, but women like you don’t need that kind of ‘attention’.
“In the quiet moments, you will feel something deeper than the fleeting excitement resulting from attention, you will feel something called pride and self respect. Keep on resisting the urge to cave. You’ll never have to make silly excuses for yourself,” she finished, adding the hashtag for International Women’s Day.
Pink is just one of many stars who have taken sides in the debate over Kim’s nude photographs and the wider issue of female nudity in general. Bette Midler, Chloe Grace Moretz and Piers Morgan all criticised Kim for the pictures she shared earlier this week, while Modern Family star Ariel Winter supported her.
“I think everyone, men and women, should have the right to choose what they do with their bodies – and not be criticised,” she tweeted.
Kanye’s ex-girlfriend Amber Rose has also jumped in to defend Kim, taking to Instagram to respond to Pink’s comments directly.
“Damn Pink we were all born naked society sexualises our breast and bodies,” she wrote.
“If a grown mother of 2 is comfortable with her body and wants it show it off that’s none of ur business or anyone else’s.
“Now, if u wanna talk to kids and be a mentor to young teens, tell them to go to school and to not use their bodies to get ahead?! I’m all for it! But please as a grown woman let another grown woman live as she wishes.”
After Kanye called out Amber during a Twitter rant, Kim stepped forward to make peace with her husband’s ex.
Amber also pointed out that Pink had previously performed in skimpy outfits on stage (as part of her live shows, the singer has often performed her hits while tumbling suspended in the air on ropes and silks).
“Pink, we’ve seen u damn near naked swinging from a rope (Beautifully) but what’s the difference between a rope, a pole and a pic on Instagram?” Amber said.
