The Block NZ: Sarah & Minanne win their first room reveal

There were some big surprises in store during tonight's episode of The Block NZ: Villa Wars

Room reveal day is notoriously hectic at the construction site, but tonight’s action-packed episode of The Block NZ: Villa Wars was in a league all of its own.

With the rumour mill running hot as to which loved-up couple were going to get engaged at Block HQ, Sarah’s boyfriend Neth’s unexpected visit – wearing a dapper suit and wielding a sparkly ring – took everyone by surprise, including his pint-sized squeeze.

But after seven blissful years together, bride-to-be Sarah was all too happy to accept Neth’s romantic proposal. Naw!

“It’s going to be memorable forever,” she gushes.

But that was not the end of the drama, nah-uh, not by a long shot. Brooke and Mitch’s stylish kitchen, which scored the couple a perfect ten, had secured them yet another win. Well, almost.

Host Mark Richardson delivered the dreaded news the purple team were disqualified – and a recycled Rimu and American oak table made by their builder Piet was the culprit.

Intended as a gift, their head chippie didn’t get a cent for his hand-crafted creation and unknowingly broke Block rules, that state all tradesmen must be paid fairly for their handy work. Ouch!

Of their honest mistake, Brooke says, “I am heartbroken that we were disqualified, I just really hope that our amazing kitchen pays off for us on auction night.”

With Cat and Jeremy also tripping up on the very same guideline this week, by default Sarah and Minanne finally win a room reveal. Bittersweet for some, but a good end to the week for the blue team.
