Gable Tostee, the Gold Coast man found not guilty of the death of Kiwi Warriena Wright, has reportedly been paid a six figure sum to tell his side of the story.
Australian current affairs show, 60 Minutes has released the first video of their interview with Tostee, in which he speaks about the night Wright fell to her death from the balcony of his 14th floor apartment.
This is the first time the public have heard directly from the 30-year-old, who was found not guilty of Wright’s murder or manslaughter in October.
The show clip shows very little, but does include Tostee listening to his own audio recording of Wright screaming “no” that he made the night the pair met on Tinder – and during which Wright later died.
“I don’t know what else to do. I wanted it to stop,” he says during the interview, which will screen in Australia this week.

Audiences have expressed outrage over the interview – and the reported sum Tostee has been paid – since the clip was released, criticising both him and the TV show for profiting off the New Zealand woman’s death.
While the television network that owns 60 Minutes wouldn’t reveal the details of the deal, Tostee’s girlfriend, New Zealand woman Lizzi Evans, wrote on social media that she expected her boyfriend to benefit from the death.
“He’s probably going to make a lot out of it actually,” she wrote in a Facebook post.
