Uma Thurman has ended her rebound relationship with hotelier Andre Balazs. Rumours ran rife that the relationship was on the rocks when Uma appeared at the oscars alone. In an official statement Uma confirmed the speculation, saying, “Unfortunately, it is true.” She adds, “But we remain close friends.” only in February Uma was quoted in a magazine interview asserting,
“Everyone constantly taunts you that rebound relationships aren’t a good idea and that they don’t work. But mine is working, surprisingly.” Uma sang Andre’s praises – “It’s lovely to have a man in my life who’s cute, intelligent, interesting and complicated, and very supportive” – which was also seen as a dig at ex-husband Ethan Hawke, with whom she split in 2004 following his much-publicised affair.
