Engaged couple Lucy (27) and Johnny (31) met in a bar in London, but now live together in Auckland. UK-born Lucy is a high-school teacher and Kiwi Johnny is a sales and marketing manager. They have different approaches to cooking – Lucy likes to plan and Johnny likes to be spontaneous.
How did you meet?
Lucy Johnny was a smooth mover. We were in a bar and a guy was trying to chat me up, but I wasn’t very interested and caught Johnny’s eye across the room. He came over with a drink for me and pretended to be my boyfriend. It was very effective.
Johnny: It was the night after the All Blacks had just been kicked out of the 2007 World Cup by France, so I wasn’t in the best of moods, but somehow made a good enough impression to get Lucy’s number.
