She did wonders for witches and stepmoms. Now Susan Sarandon is drawing attention to the world of table tennis.

The veteran actress will produce a reality TV series about her ping-pong club SPiN in New York. She confirms, “It won’t be like Jersey Shore. It’s more of an episodic documentary. We’re trying to invent something you haven’t seen before that follows a bunch of people in this crazy little subculture.”

Susan (63) – who is an investor at the club – plans to use the show to capture the community that has formed around the world of table tennis, especially the young players who are trying to make it to the olympic Games.

Calling herself the “Johnny Appleseed of Ping-Pong”, Susan is unsure when and where the show will air. However, she tells, “We want the tone of it to be funny and quite different than anything else that anybody’s seen before. We’re just in the early filming stages now.”
