He’s only two weeks old, but Prince George of Cambridge has already been offered his first television role. Coronation Street’s creative director John Whiston hopes that the royal baby may be able to visit the cobbles to open the new set in Salford, reports the Daily Star.
“We want the royal baby to come and open the new street. It would be fantastic to get Kate, William and Georgethere with a pair of tiny baby scissors,” John told the newspaper.
“The soap has a long historical connection with the royal family, so having the newest arrival on the set would be perfect.”
Prince George wouldn’t be the first royal to appear on the show – his grandfather, Prince Charles, appeared in an episode on December 8, 2000 when the show was celebrating its 40th anniversary.
