Irish singer Ronan Keating went from pop hero to real-life hero recently when he saved the life of a fellow restaurant patron who was choking on a piece of bread. Realising the woman nearby was unable to breathe, the ex-Boyzone star acted quickly, using the Heimlich manoeuvre to dislodge the bread stuck in her throat. The grateful diner said, “Thank God Ronan was there. I’ve always been a massive fan – but now he’s my hero”.
