Coronation Street star Johnny Briggs who plays Mike Baldwin, is said to be distraught at the breakdown of his 30 year marriage. Wife Christine sent a lawyer’s letter, which was delivered with his fan mail. In it she told him that she felt they had simply grown apart. Although the couple has held crisis talks it seems Christine’s mind is firmly made up, and she is anxious to agree financial terms for their separation. Johnny, who has worked long hours on ‘The Street’ since first taking the role of Mike Baldwin in 1976, has a string of UK property investments to his name.
