They entered for the chance to find true love, but one Australian Married at First Sight star claims the show cost her thousands of dollars in lost earnings.
One of the show’s most memorable stars, Clare Verrall, has revealed exactly what she and the other contestants were paid during their time on the show.
When questioned by someone on Instagram, Clare replied: “$110 a week”.
The outspoken Aussie was unsuccessfully matched with Jono Pitman, and the pair’s relationship ended halfway through the reality TV experiment after a series of fiery rows. She told her social media followers her time on the show actually cost her money.

“No you don’t get paid a wage, you get a $110 per week but they don’t contribute to your rent for the house they are filming in or the dates they want you to go on,” she wrote.
“I work in sales and it had a big impact on my work as you can’t just ‘go to work normally’ as they claim. Doing the show probably cost me thousands in lost revenue. That’s why whenever someone writes ‘they just do it for the money’ I have a good laugh!”
It seems Clare has since removed her post.
