This comedic caper dazzles both with its sequined costumes and Hollywood star power.
Christian Bale plays con man Irving Rosenfeld, who, along with his partner Sydney Prosser (Amy Adams), is forced to work for unhinged FBI agent Richie DiMaso (Bradley Cooper) to catch congressmen and mobsters in acts of fraud.
With its 10 Oscar nominations, including one for Jennifer Lawrence, it’s clever, but at times the story lags, and almost needs to be hustled to get to the end.
