When Kate Ryan develops cancer and dies, the people she leaves behind are grief-stricken and spiral into self-destruction. Her daughter falls into a love affair, the husband struggles with raising three children, and her best friend takes solace in drugs and alcohol.

But a catastrophic event means each must overcome their darkness in order to move forward. Fly Away is a beautifully written story about loss, but ultimately it deals with the power of love.
