Beyonce paying for her Super Bowl performance

It’s believed Beyonce is planning to perform live at the Super Bowl.

Beyonce’s Super Bowl performance is one of the most highly-anticipated events in the US this February, but sources reveal that the singer may have to fork out to perform. The NFL will pay an estimated $715,000 towards the production costs of the show, but the costs of putting on the elaborate spectacle are far higher, meaning she will have to find the extra cash herself.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told the Daily Mail, “We pay the production costs for the halftime show, there is no fee for the artists. Beyoncewill not get paid, but her back-up singers, her musicians, all the extras – they will be paid by the NFL production budget. But last year, for Madonna’s show, the budget certainly exceeded the budget the NFL gave her, and that will almost certainly be the same this year.

“This means the artists have to pay the difference out of their own pocket – it won’t be the act themselves, but their business side. Their record label, or even Pepsi could fund it for Beyonce.”

The news comes hot on the heels of Beyonce’slip synching controversy at Barack Obama’s inauguration, but it’s believed she is planning to perform live at the Super Bowl. Before fans worry too much about Beyonce being out of pocket, her music sales are expected to jump after her performance and she has also signed a $59 million deal with Pepsi who are sponsoring her half-time show.
