It was one of the biggest films of the 1980s, and 25 years after it’s release, Beetlejuice star Winona Ryder says a sequel might be on the cards.
“I’m kind of sworn to secrecy, but it sounds like it might be happening,” Winona (42) told The Daily Beast.
The film – which also stars Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis and Michael Keaton, in the title role – made Winona a household name.
Tim Burton is said to be directing the film and Michael is also claimed to be on-board.
“It’s not a remake,” Winona told the website. “It’s 27 years later. And I have to say, I love Lydia [Deetz, her character] so much. She was such a huge part of me.
“[It’s] one of those movies where little kids stop me [to talk about it],” she added.
“I’m so associated with it. I think it gave me my career. I was such a weird looking kid.”
