It is award season once more, and the first cab off the rank are the Golden Globe Awards.

The hit film La La Land led the charge with seven nominations, and its stars, Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling took out the gongs for Best Actress and Actor in a Musical or Comedy.

In his speech, the actor paid a heartfelt tribute to his partner, actress Eva Mendes, and their two daughters, Esmeralda and Amada.

“Sweetheart, thank you,” he said, before dedicating his win to Mendes’ brother, Carlos, who died of cancer last April.
