She famously criticised Katy Perry’s Firework lyrics in The X Factor New Zealand, and now Eden Roberts is putting her song-writing skills where her mouth is on her debut EP. Although eliminated, it’s clear she had talent, but the TV show was the wrong place for the folk-indie singer. On her EP, the teen expresses herself through a range of genres – Crying Birds mixes guitar with rhythmic beats, while Not in a Bad Way incorporates both rap and pop. It’s a small taste of big things to come.
