A German supermarket has tugged at the heartstrings with their latest Christmas commercial. \n\nEdeka’s ad opens with an elderly man listening to a voicemail from his children to say they won’t be joining him for Christmas. \n\nHe looks wistful, watching his neighbour’s family gather to join him for a meal. \n\nSo the elderly man puts on a nice suit and eats dinner alone at his large dining table.\n\nWe then see his children learning that he has died. Distraught and overcome with grief, they all rush to his home to find the table set for Christmas dinner.\n\nTheir father peeks out from the kitchen and it becomes apparent he has pulled a trick to get his family to join him for Christmas.\n\n\”How else could I have brought you all together?\” he asks.\n\nHis children and grandchildren then enjoy a lovely meal, full of smiles and laughter.\n\nThe beautiful video has gone viral because it carries such a powerful message.\n\nIt’s a poignant reminder about the fragility of life. In our busy lives it can be so easy to neglect those closest to us and take them for granted. But once they’re gone, all we will be left with is regret.\n\nMake time for your loved ones this Christmas. Being together is, after all, the true meaning of the season.
