Watch the moment a pianist plays ‘Imagine’ on the streets of Paris

Watch this pianist perform a heartbreaking rendition of John Lennon’s hit

As the world reacts to the shocking terror attacks that took place in Paris over the weekend, one man has made a stand in his own way on the streets of the French capital.

According to witnesses at the scene, German-born musician Davide Martello used his bike to pull a piano marked with a peace sign to a spot just a few feet away from concert hall Bataclan, where four gunmen reportedly left at least 80 people dead.

Mr Martello was soon surrounded by a crowd of people as he began to play John Lennon’s Imagine, with many of the onlookers wiping away tears as he performed.

“I just knew I had to do something,” he later told The Guardian, revealing he had driven 400 miles throughout the night from Konstanz, Germany to be there.

“I wanted to be there to try and comfort, and offer a sign of hope.”
