I was visiting my adoptive parents when my dad said they needed a new vacuum cleaner. I offered to call a shop about one while he helped my mum (who has dementia) into her PJs. As I was talking to the salesman my dad could be heard saying, “Darling, will you please take your trousers off?”
There was silence on the phone then the salesman finally said, “Do you wish to continue with this conversation, Madam?”
