Tom Holland proposed to Emma Jessop on Mother’s Day, 2010.
He says, “I had made a card with a cute picture of our daughter on the front, and wrote a message about how she was a great mum, and looked forward to spending the rest of our lives together.
“I timed it so when she got to the bottom of the message, I was down on one knee and asked her to marry me. She instantly started crying. Her mum heard and asked if everything was ok…I think she thought we had broken up!
“We tied the knot 18 months later. The location for our wedding was at my uncle’s estate out Hamurana, Rotorua. It had amazing views of the lake. We had 80 guests and the day went extremely well – although we were so caught up in the occasion that we forgot to take our beautiful daughter (and flower girl) along for the bridal party photos… something that we deeply regret now. But still we got some great photos of her and the day was unreal.
Twenty cases of wine and 80 dozen beers later, meant for a very sore head the following day.
