Earlier this month, The Weekly reported the devastating news that young Australian dad-to-be Matthew Hall died as a result of heatstroke.

The 30-year-old was dirt bike-riding in the Sunshine Coast’s Beerburrum State Forest when he started to feel unwell, according to 7 News.

After collapsing, paramedics were called to the scene, however, his organs were already shutting down by the time a rescue helicopter arrived to get further medical attention.

Mr Hall leaves behind friends, family and his wife Emily Hall, who, at the time of his death, was two weeks away from giving birth to the couple’s first child together.

Ms Hall gave birth to their baby boy on Thursday.

While Mr Hall wasn’t there, according to The Courier Mail, Ms Hall has been inundated with support from those close to her.

Friends and family will together remember Mr Hall, as well as raise money for his newborn son, at a charity dinner on Monday, February 6, organised by family friend Tyron Simon .

“They were so in love,” Mr Simon says. “She was his sweetheart, he was her sweetheart.”

“She’s an incredibly strong woman, for her to be as strong and courageous as she is, is a testament to the relationship and the kind of people they are.”

Ms Hall, who works in the travel industry, says that she can’t imagine life without the late Virgin Australia pilot.

“I can’t fathom life without him but my strength is knowing he will live through his son,” she says.

“I will love him enough for the two of us and I will make sure I do Matt proud and be the best mum to him.”
