Stacey and Bruce Andrews tied the knot at Stacey’s grandfather’s farm at Pleasant Point in South Canterbury on February 25th, 2017.
The couple first met when they began working together in 2009 – Bruce was Stacey’s boss. From workmates they progressed to best friends and eventually moved in together in 2014. After living together in harmony as flatmates they realised they were more than ‘just friends’ and took their relationship to the next level.
On New Years Eve a year later (2015), Bruce popped the question at Haldon Arm camping ground in Tekapo.
The couple celebrated their wedding with their children Ella (10), Cooper (7), Bentley (5), Booka (1) and approximately 290 of their friends and family – plus the rugby team Bruce coaches.
The couple has a blended family. Bruce has one daughter, Ella, from a previous relationship and Stacey has two boys, Cooper and Bentley, from a previous relationship and they share their baby boy Booka together. The couple says that having their children there to celebrate with them was so special and they were “just adorable” on the day.
Their ceremony at Stacey’s grandfather’s farm was followed by a casual reception at the local hall in Waitohi where their guests enjoyed a spit roast, salads and plenty of good times and laughs.
Without Stacey’s grandparents the couple have no idea where their wedding would have ended up.
The couple wanted to keep their wedding as laid-back and enjoyable as possible.
They even found an old school bus that they used to take their bridal photos with and said “it was so much fun they could have partied on it all night”.
