Suzanne Churchill was over the moon when her landlord gave her the green light for a transformative paint job. “We love our rental home,” she says. “But felt that it needed some refreshing and modernising.”
The New Plymouth local was looking for inspiration when a visit to her daughter’s country cottage helped her land on the colour of her dreams. “She had just finished painting her lounge and dining room in Resene Marshland and we loved it.”
She bought a testpot at her local Resene ColorShop. Immediately after her paintbrush touched the white wall, she knew it was the right choice for feature walls in the lounge and main bedroom. She also decided to jazz up an all-white cabinet by painting three cupboard doors the same shade. “Our landlord agreed it was a great colour and said go ahead.”
Resene Marshland, described as a murky green-black, adds a chic touch that works from morning to night. Suzanne says, “When the sunlight hits the feature walls it shows the green tint and reflects in the plants and accessories around the room. At night, the black TV frame blends into the wall and makes the picture brighter and crisper.”
The cabinet sits against the white wall by the main bedroom, which is decorated with a feature wall behind the headboard and has soft green matching decor.
It’s a renter’s paradise.
