The best non-traditional wedding trend we’ve seen this year has got to be the puppy bouquet.

Bride Sarah Mallouk Crain, from Pennsylvania, works for a non-profit organisation that re-homes pit bulls.

Passionate about her work and the dogs she looks after, Sarah decided to incorporate the pups in her big day.

Enlisting the help of five Boxer-Coonhound puppies (named after the original First Ladies of America no less), for her bridesmaids, Sarah herself had a nine week old rescue pup for her bouquet.

And photographer Caroline Logan, who captured the images of the pups, said the animals actually helped the girls feel more relaxed and at ease during the course of the day.

“Having something to divert attention from that uncomfortable ‘oh my goodness, I’m getting my picture taken’ feeling to pure puppy bliss made for relaxed photos where the bridal party was able to focus on interacting with the fun-loving puppies as I documented it all unfold,” she said.
