Actress Lisa Harrow (69) is directing Auckland Outdoor Summer Shakespeare’s 50th Anniversary show King Lear this month.
MY BEAUTY PHILOSOPHY IS… we are what we eat, and what beauty we have comes from within. I prefer to cook my own food and eat organically as much as I can.
THE SKINCARE PRODUCTS I CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT ARE… Sukin Cleanser and Moisturiser and Trilogy Everything Balm. I avoid most skincare products because I believe their ingredients are not good for the skin. My key reference is the Environmental Working Group’s guide to cosmetics, ewg.org/skindeep/
MY HAIRCARE SECRET IS… a good colourist and cutter. Since I’ve been in Auckland working on King Lear, I’ve been going to Vivo on Ponsonby Rd where Hayley tames my wild and woolly curls with a short, sharp cut, and Anna takes care of the colour. At home, I use Lush Squeaky Green Shampoo Bar followed by their Jungle Solid Conditioner.
THE MUST-HAVE PRODUCTS IN MY MAKEUP BAG ARE… the basics: a MAC eyeshadow in Coquette and their Splashproof Lash mascara in black. Also, a brown Almay eye pencil and eyeliner.
MY FAVOURITE BEAUTY TREAT IS… I’ve never even had a facial, so have no idea about beauty treats. Maybe a good night’s sleep?
MY BIGGEST BEAUTY SIN IS… doubting my natural beauty.
THE BEST THING MY MOTHER TAUGHT ME ABOUT BEAUTY WAS… not to give it a thought.
