Ousted The Bachelor NZ contestant Mariana Morrison says she was “surprised” she didn’t get a rose in last night’s episode, telling Woman’s Day she felt there was a connection between her and Zac Franich.
“I honestly didn’t think I was going home,” she revealed. “I still feel like there was maybe something there.”
Last night’s episode saw Mariana taking part in a group date alongside several of the other Bachelorettes, which involved the women competing in a variety of surf life-saving activities while Zac cheered them on from the sidelines.
Despite almost winning the race (and some coveted one-on-one time with Zac in the process), Mariana eventually lost out to yoga instructor Ally – something the fiercely competitive stunner still regrets.
“I wish I won that race. That’s all I’ve got in my mind – it gives me nightmares, honestly,” she dished.
“It wasn’t so much the whole date thing, it was just because I’m competitive.”
While she said goodbye to Zac and her journey to find love on the show last night, Mariana says she’s made firm friendships with many of the girls in the house and has 29-year-old Hannah picked out as her choice for the winner.
As for where she stands with Zac now, it seems the two are happily in “the bro zone”!
