What is the fourth season of Ted Lasso about?

Without giving away any spoilers, season four is a sequel of sorts. Off the back of a season three finale plotline, Ted returns to AFC Richmond to coach a women’s second‑division soccer team.

Who stars in season 4 of Ted Lasso?

On 29 April 2026, Apple TV confirmed Brett Goldstein, Juno Temple, Hanna Waddingham, Brendan Hunt and Jeremy Swift will return for season four.

New cast members include Tayna Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern, and Grant Feely.

What happened in season three of Ted Lasso?

In the 12-episode third season of Ted Lasso, the newly-promoted AFC Richmond team faces ridicule due to media predictions of it coming last in the Premier League. To make matters worse, former assistant coach Nate, hailed as the “wonder kid,” has gone to work for competing team West Ham United. In the wake of Nate’s contentious departure from Richmond, Roy Kent steps up as the assistant coach for AFC Richmond alongside Beard.

Meanwhile, as Ted deals with pressures at work, he continues to wrestle with personal issues back home. Things seem to be falling apart both on and off the pitch, but AFC Richmond is set to give it their best shot anyway.

Who stars in season 3 of Ted Lasso?

Writer, executive producer and star Jason Sudeikis stars as Ted Lasso in the third season of his characters namesake show, alongside Hannah Waddingham as AFC Richmond owner Rebecca, Brendon Hunt as assistant coach and friend Beard and Brett Goldstein as other assistant coach Roy Kent.

Juno Temple returns in her comedic role as PR guru and Roy Kent’s girlfriend Keeley, Phil Dunster as star player Jamie Tartt, and Nick Mohammed as Nate also return for season three.

Was season three of Ted Lasso supposed to be the last?

Season three’s 2023 finale was intended to be Ted Lasso’s last‑ever episode.

“This is the end of this story that we wanted to tell, that we were hoping to tell, that we loved to tell,” Ted Lasso creator and star Jason Sudeikis told Deadline in March 2023 after the season 3 finale.

However, due to fan demand, Warner Bros. signed contracts with key cast members, including Hannah Waddingham, Brendan Hunt, Juno Temple and Brett Goldstein, to keep the option of a season 4 return open.
