What is the fourth movie about?

Based on Helen Fielding’s novel of the same name, Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy details the triumphs and trials of motherhood as a widowed woman.

Yes, you read that right. Mad About the Boy is set four years after Bridget’s love, Mark Darcy (Colin Firth), tragically passes away on a humanitarian mission in Sudan.

Bridget is still just as loveable, awkward, and relatable as she was in the first film, except she now has a bit more strength and wisdom on her side to guide her. Viewers can expect to laugh with her, cry with her, and even be rendered speechless. Buckle up!

Is Colin Firth in Bridget Jones 4? Who else stars in the movie?

Unfortunately for Colin Firth fans, character Mark Darcy’s tragic passing means the actor doesn’t appear in the film.

While OG stars Renée Zellweger and Hugh Grant remain, Bridget Jones 4 welcomes Leo Woodall (One Day, The White Lotus) to play Roxster McDuff, the newcomer to Bridget’s inevitable love triangle.

Confessions of a Shopaholic star Isla Fisher and Love Actually stars Emma Thompson and Chiwetel Ejiofor also make notable appearances throughout the film.
