Married at First Sight’s Susie Bradley has a new boyfriend – and he’s the ‘bad boy’ she’s been seeking

It's love, apparently.

When 25-year-old single mother Susie Bradley entered Married at First Sight she was pretty open about the type of man she was used to dating; a bad boy.

“For me, the initial thing I go for is sexual attraction,” she says. “I melt over a very good-looking boy. A lot of the guys I find attractive are covered in tattoos and have a bad attitude.”

But who did she get paired with? Billy Vincent – probably one of the nicest most wholesome guys going. The only ‘bad’ things he’s done in his life are a) telling a few white lies to Susie because he was nervous around her and b) getting his kit off for a nude charity calendar. Which, really, we can all agree isn’t actually ‘bad.’ But it at least gives him a bit of ‘edge’.

Needless to say it was a bad match from the start, and after a number of fights resulting in tearful breakdowns on Billy’s part they went their separate ways after only a few weeks.

While the experts surely thought that bad boys weren’t working out for Susie and decided to give her what she needed rather than what she wanted, sometimes it can be hard to break the habit of a lifetime. And the heart wants what the heart wants, right?

Rumours have been swirling for a while now that Susie and ex-NRL player Todd Carney had struck up a romance. And she has just confirmed it via a loved-up Instagram post.

Sharing a picture of the pair lying down in the sun together, Susie wrote: “I have waited so long for the day to come where this saying makes complete sense and now it finally does…”

“One day someone will walk into your life and make you see why it never worked out with anyone else ” @tcarney86 You are 100% that person and I am so incredibly in love with you xxxxxxxx #luckiestgirlintheworld”.

The 32-year-old ex Cronulla Sharks player shared a photo of his own. “No caption needed”, he wrote, accompanied by a love heart.

Susie’s ex-husband Billy doesn’t seem to be particularly pleased about her choice of partner. “What can I say? That’s a really hard one for me, I’ve got mixed feelings about that,” he said. “You can really see Susie’s judge of character by the people that she hangs out with.”

If it’s a bad boy she wants, it’s a bad boy she’s definitely got in Todd. The former NRL star was at the height of his career in 2014 when it all came crashing down after a drunken incident in a Cronulla pub in which he was photographed urinating into his own mouth.

The image went viral after it was posted to Twitter and not only was he sacked by his club, losing his multi-million dollar contract, he was banned from the NRL for two years.

“I know it was stupid and I’ll live with it for the rest of my life,” he recently told Seven news in Australia.

Todd has a long history of trouble with his clubs and the law, including multiple convictions for drink driving and one for a high-speed police chase in Canberra in 2007.

He was sacked from his then-club the Canberra Raiders in 2008 after urinating on a member of the public inside a nightclub.

In 2009 he was banned for a year from his home town of Goulburn, New South Wales, and ordered by the courts to undergo alcohol counselling after drunkenly damaging a car in the town. That same year he set a man’s trousers alight at a New Year’s Eve party, causing burns to the man.

In 2010 he was named the NRL’s best player. But the following year he was arrested for drink driving for the second time, narrowly avoiding a jail sentence.

Other off-field alcohol-related incidents followed and he was released from his contract with the Sydney Roosters in 2011.

Then came the infamous urinating incident in 2014 which effectively ended his career in Australia. He played for the English Super League for a few years before returning home in 2017.

Carney is now captain and coach of the Red Devils league club in Byron Bay which, incidentally, is where Susie’s ex-husband Billy lives. Could make for an awkward encounter if they run into each other at the local RSL.
