Khloe Kardashian: My family begged me to leave Lamar’s side

The reality star opens up about Lamar's road to recovery and her boyfriend James Harden

When Lamar Odom was rushed to hospital last month after being found unconscious in a Nevada brothel, his estranged wife Khloe Kardashian dropped everything to be by his side.

Since then, the reality star (who is still legally married to Lamar) has been a constant source of support for her estranged husband, stepping in to make the big medical decisions and helping him through his health crisis.

Understandably, the ordeal has taken its toll on Khloe, who recently revealed her family begged her to leave Lamar’s bedside and take some time for herself.

“Just recently I’ve been in the hospital for almost three-and-a-half weeks straight, and finally everyone was saying, ‘Khloe, you have to get out of the hospital and do something that’s for you,’” she told the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Naturally, the health-conscious star headed straight to the gym to get back to her rigorous workout routine, which she had proudly posted about on social media before Lamar was hospitalised.

“I had such anxiety going to the gym, but as soon as I left, I felt like, ‘Oh my God, I’m okay. I’m human again.’ I just felt so good,” she revealed.

“But for those three weeks, I didn’t think about going to the gym because I was thinking about other things, and I don’t beat myself up about it.”

Khloe and Lamar officially called off their divorce proceedings late last month, putting the star in a “unique situation” with her boyfriend, NBA player James Harden. In a new interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Khloe opened up about how James has been coping with Lamar’s ongoing medical crisis and her role in it.

“Yeah, he’s fine with it. I mean, we have to communicate a lot. And he’s really supportive and great. I think the press and everything, they make it more complicated,” she said.

As for Lamar, Khloe said he deserved to have someone supporting him throughout his health battle, and she was happy to fill that role for him.

“I’m there helping him and I love him, and I’ve always loved him,” she told Ellen.

“And that will never change. And I just feel like it’s a really insensitive thing to fast-forward a divorce.”
