It was never going to take long before the women of Weld began to show an interest in dapper dad George Turner and in last night’s episode of 800 Words, feisty Fiona started to make a move.
“A single dad turns up in a tiny seaside town with two kids, all the women are very aware he’s on his own,” says the actress behind Fiona, Michelle Langstone.
Although the ladies are certainly interested in the widowed newspaper columnist, it remains to be seen if George is ready to open his heart again after recently losing his wife.
“It’s been less than a year since his wife’s death,” says Erik. “He hasn’t been thinking about love.”
One person who certainly isn’t keen on the idea is George’s teenage daughter Shay, who last night made her feelings in the matter very clear.
“Shay finds a reason not to like the women of Weld,” tells actress Melina Vidler, who plays her. “These women have done nothing to her. The only reason she’s like this is because the memory of her mother dying is still fresh. She’s never had to consider before now that other women could be attracted to her father.”
