The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are touring Canada for the first time with both their children.
This royal tour is a big event for the family; it’s 16-month-old Charlotte’s first official royal visit.
The family landed in Victoria, the capital of British Colombia, in a Canadian Airforce plane, shortly before 4pm local time, and were greeted by the Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife, Sophie.
Other dignitaries on hand to greet the Royal family were the Governor General of Canada David Johnston (and wife Sharon), Lieutenant Governor Judith Guichon and Premier of British Columbia Christy Clark – with their son Hamish.
The Duchess looked picture perfect in a royal blue dress by British designer Jenny Packham. Nude heels complemented the barely-below the knee dress, and her Locke and Co hat, decorated with maple leaves as a tribute to her Canadian hosts, offset a sweeping up do.
Accessorising with her usual royal flair, Kate added just a touch of glamour with Queen’s glittering maple leaf diamond.
The brooch, a family heirloom, was also lent to Kate by the Queen in 2011, when she and William made their first visit together to the country.
Young Prince George seemed to be taking the business of travelling very seriously, holding both his parents’ hands as the family walked down the steps of the aircraft towards the waiting officials.
Dressed in a pale blue jumper, blue shorts and knee-length socks, George’s outfit was virtually identical to the one he wore to visit the Lindo wing when his sister was born.
His wee sister, Princess Charlotte, wore a pretty patterned dress with blue shoes, white socks and a blue bow in her hair and was carried by their mother.
William looked dapper, as ever, in a dark blue suit and his Guards tie.
Their eight-day visit will see the couple attend about 30 official engagements.
The tour will include a tribute to veterans of the Afghanistan conflict, as well as a visit to pregnant women struggling with addiction. A meeting with First Nations communities is also on the agenda, the BBC reports.
