Kate is in officially remission and her relationship is stronger than ever

Their ‘brutal year’ has had an emotional silver lining

It’s the news the world has been desperately waiting to hear – the Princess of Wales has confirmed that she’s officially in remission!

After paying an emotional visit to London’s Royal Marsden Hospital, where she was treated for an undisclosed form of cancer, Kate, 43, took to social media to reveal the fantastic health update and thank doctors for her care.

“It’s a relief to now be in remission and I remain focused on recovery,” she wrote. “As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal. I am, however, looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead. There is much to look forward to. Thank you to everyone for your continued support.”

Kate made a solo visit to the hospital to cheer on cancer patients.

During the visit, Kate warmly greeted cancer patients at the hospital and empathised with them about the “tough treatment”, saying, “There is light at the end of the tunnel.”

The mother-of-three joked that it was a novelty for her to enter through the front door, having made so many quiet visits to receive treatment in secrecy, as well as candidly discussing the semi-permanent port mechanism used to deliver her “really tough” chemotherapy.

“I got so attached to it,” she shared, revealing that she actually hesitated when finally told it could be removed.

Kate admitted that while adjusting to life while dealing with the effects of treatment has been difficult for her, it had also taken a huge toll on William, 42.

“I feel like the loved ones around us sometimes find it the hardest,” she confessed. “They need support just as much as I did as the patient.”

Kate also gave her heartfelt thanks for “those who have quietly walked alongside William and me”.

Royal insiders say Kate’s bravery throughout her treatment has brought her and her husband closer than ever. William’s unprecedented tribute to his wife on her 43rd birthday earlier this month highlighted this.

The prince posted, “To the most incredible wife and mother. The strength you’ve shown over the past year has been remarkable. George, Charlotte, Louis and I are so proud of you. Happy birthday, Catherine. We love you. W.”

Veteran royal reporter Rebecca English says, “William is an emotional man in private but traditionally less comfortable showing those feelings publicly, and it was clear to anyone who knows him this was a sign of the huge strain he has felt as a husband and father over the past year.”

Daily Express royal editor Emily Ferguson adds, “He uses incredibly emotive language not previously used by the royal family, especially on birthdays. He’s letting everyone know how proud he is of Kate and what they have achieved together. It’s a sincere statement of heartfelt love.”

Meghan’s long-awaited return to Instagram has gained her 1.5 million followers, but those she considered allies are not among them! As of last week, Oprah Winfrey, Gwyneth Paltrow, Cameron Diaz and even Prince Harry’s cousin Princess Eugenie are a few of the stars who have snubbed her on social media.

“Meghan feels disappointed with some of the people who have not followed her back,” says a source. “Some of these people she thought were friends, but apparently not. “It doesn’t take much to show support and it’s no secret she and Harry are under fire right now.

“She didn’t really expect Gwyn to follow her because of Goop, but she’s really upset over Eugenie and Oprah. She’s trying hard to not take it personally.”

Lili’s princess era

Meghan and Harry’s chef friend Adrian Lipscombe recently let slip that Lilibet is in her “princess phase”, and an insider says the little girl doesn’t even know that she is one herself!

“Lilibet doesn’t quite understand that she is indeed a real princess, but it’s certainly fanned the flames of her Disney Princess obsession,” tells a Sussex insider. “Lili would much rather be Princess Elsa or Moana than Princess Lilibet.”

And who better to indulge the three-year-old’s royal fantasies than her princely dad. Harry happily caters to his daughter’s princess wishes! “Harry loves helping her ‘fly’ or ‘twirl in the air’ with her princess powers,” says the insider.
